GATE

Thank you for visiting Centennial’s gifted and talented education page.

W.I.N (What I Need) is our district theme for the gifted and talented program (G.A.T.E.) this year. What is success, what do we do to accomplish it, how do we know when we achieve it, are all questions to consider. Our goal is for students to become creative, productive thinkers and to take risks with new ideas. What are the problem areas in our lives and what can we do to solve that problem? Learning tools like the Design Process to problem solve will help create critical thinking skills and search for the best possible solution.

Students will strengthen their tenacity and collaboration skills as they work through projects while supporting others who “think in a similar manner”. Please team with me as skills such as these are life skills that are so impacting and empowering to your child. Upper grade GATE classes offer opportunities to pursue their interest through projects and to learn how to manage their project tasks, quality, and time.

Finally, I feel strongly in partnering with you to help your child be the best person they can be as a student/child here at Centennial. Together, with your child, we will open many gates to success!

As always, Dream Big, Think Big
