I wanted to make you aware that earlier this evening (Dec. 11th), I received information that our school, along with a handful of others in the metro area, was identified as a target of harm in a social media discussion among middle school students from Edmond, Yukon, and Piedmont. I am relieved to tell you that this is not a credible threat! Edmond police, collaborating with officers in Piedmont who have investigated this matter, tell me that the results of the investigation reveal there was a statement made by a student; however, this student has no involvement with Centennial.

We are communicating this information to you to let you know that nothing is more important to us than the safety and security of our school community and we will continue to be vigilant in our efforts to protect students and staff. Police will continue to work with us by providing a security presence at our school.

If at any time you are concerned about a safety issue at Centennial, please consider my number your first call.  Whether you want to share first-hand information or to discern the credibility of a likely rumor, we are safest when we are working together.  Thank you for your continued partnership and trust.

Respectfully,

Jessele Miller

Principal
