Debbie Crouch!

Congratulations on a well-deserved appointment for Teacher of the Year at Centennial Elementary!

“Debbie Crouch is an outstanding educator! She has a gift for understanding and reaching the early childhood learner. Debbie is so deserving of this honor, Teacher of the Year for the 2017-2018 school year.” ~Jessele Miller, Principal

A little about me:
“I have been married 28 years to my 1st grade boyfriend Jeff. We have
two boys that graduated from Santa Fe High School and UCO. My oldest
son, Jordan, is in Real Estate and my youngest, Josh, is a youth
pastor. I was blessed to stay home with my boys when they were younger. I was
a homeroom mom, helped in the media center and decided I loved being
at the school so I became a TA at Charles Haskell where my boys
attended. I worked with a wonderful teacher and was inspired by her to
get my teaching degree. I graduated form UCO 11 years ago this
December and this is my 10th year at Centennial. I taught Pre K my
first year here and the following year moved to Kindergarten.
Early childhood is definitely my calling. As a 1st Grade student I had
an awful experience so it has always been my heart’s desire to create
a learning environment for my students where they feel loved,
accepted, safe, free to take risks and have fun learning. It is very
important to me that my students feel confident in their learning
abilities. If you were to visit my classroom on any given day you could see us
marching and waving American flags, singing our sight word songs,
cooking with Nanny, Math Mania, free play, singing and doing our
alphabet in sign language, writing quietly in journals,  impromptu
dancing, hug time and much more. I would be honored to have the
privilege of representing Centennial as your teacher of the year.”
